Sendai, Miyagi, Sep. 6, 2024. 3DC, a Japanese manufacturer and supplier of Graphene Mesosponge® (GMS), an advanced carbon material for battery technology, is pleased to announce that it has been selected as a recipient of two major strategic R&D grant programs, SIP and BRIDGE, managed and sponsored by Japan’s Cabinet Office, CSTI (Council for Science, Technology and Innovation), and NIMS (National Institution for Material Science). Over the course of the three-year program period, 3DC will receive up to JPY 800 Million ($5.7 Million) in funding.

SIP and BRIDGE are two of Japan’s Cabinet Office and CSTI’s most prominent grant programs, designed to drive scientific and technological innovation. SIP identifies key societal challenges and emerging technologies with the potential to bolster Japan’s economic competitiveness. 3DC is the only organization to receive grants across multiple themes, reflecting the government’s recognition of our position as a leading deep-tech startup in Japan.
